Banjo Bolts

Pattern Fasteners manufactures special and bespoke banjo bolts for hydraulic, lubrication, fuel, braking and other fluid-transfer applications.

Unlike a conventional bolt, a banjo bolt incorporates an internal passage and one or more cross-drilled holes. When assembled with a banjo fitting, these passages allow fluid to flow through the centre of the bolt and into the connected pipe or hose.

How Does a Banjo Bolt Work?

A typical banjo bolt incorporates an axial bore connected to radial holes through the bolt shank.

The bolt passes through the circular section of the banjo fitting. Sealing washers are normally positioned on either side of the fitting, allowing the assembly to be tightened while maintaining a fluid path through the bolt.

This compact arrangement is particularly useful where space is limited or where the connected pipe needs to approach the fitting at an angle.

Banjo bolt dimensions can vary considerably depending on the equipment and fluid system.
