Another precision-engineered component from Pattern Fasteners, manufactured from DZR Brass for a demanding application.
This locking bush was produced in one operation on our twin turret, twin spindle CNC machine, incorporating a 1¾" BSP thread to deliver the required accuracy and consistency.
Designers choose DZR brass because it is designed to resist dezincification corrosion, particularly in components used for water systems.
Ordinary brass grades such as cz121 can leach zinc from the alloy when under acidic conditions especially in warm, stagnant, chlorinated, or slightly acidic water. That leaves behind a poor structure, which can eventually fail the component. DZR stands for Dezincification Resistant material.
Plumbing fittings, taps, valves, water meters, heating systems and pumps use DZR brass especially where normal free-machining brass is not suitable.
Compared with CZ121 / CW614N, DZR brass generally gives:
CW602N / CZ132 is a typical grade of DZR brass.
From complex components to high-volume production, our advanced CNC capabilities allow us to manufacture precision parts to exact customer specifications.
